Dr. Alvarez After finishing his social and community work in the Caribbean, he decided to move to California, USA in 2011 to obtain his certification as a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in the United States through the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates ( ECFMG), followed by this he had the opportunity to work at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) completing a postdoctoral research in minimally invasive surgery followed by an internship in general surgery also at UCSD, being a resident of General Surgery at this University .

 

In November 2016 he traveled to Puerto Rico where he had the opportunity to become certified as a Medical Cannabis Doctor and Master Budder. He also had the opportunity to work in a medicinal cannabis laboratory and learn directly from the hand farmers and cannabis experts graduated from the University of Oaksterdam, further increasing their knowledge and experience in the field.

 

Through his work he has had the opportunity to meet and live in different cities where medical cannabis is legal such as Amsterdam, San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, San Diego, Portland, Puerto Rico, Medellin (Colombia), and provide medical care to a great variety of patients of different nationalities, cultures, religions and socioeconomic status, basing their treatments on Medicinal Cannabis.
