Antonio Luis Mejía Piñeros. BsC, MsC

Biologist from the National University of Colombia graduated with a Master’s degree in Phytotherapy at the University of Barcelona and an experience in the field of medicinal plants of more than 27 years of work in various subjects related to the phytomedicine industry since the bibliographic review on ethnobotany and field work, biological management in organic agriculture, research in phytochemistry and pharmacology up to the clinical research of medicinal plants with emphasis on the medicinal flora of Colombia.

 

He is currently a Research Professor at the Juan N. Corpas University Foundation and a botanical advisor at the LABFARVE laboratory. Professor of the Specialization in Alternative Therapeutics and Plant Pharmacology, professor of medicinal botany in the Course of Medicinal Plants of the Juan N. Corpas University Foundation. Scientific Director of the Medicinal Garden Jorge Piñeros Corpas, since the year 1993.

 

He has coordinated courses in plant pharmacology for the Labfarve Laboratory and the School of Medicine. He has collaborated with the Alexander von Humboldt Institute and the Procomverde Foundation in establishing a list of medicinal plants marketed in Colombia.

 

He is a member of the Research Group in Plant Pharmacology of the Colombian Medicinal Flora of the Juan N. Corpas University Foundation, B classification of Colciencias and ABC American Botanical.
